Intense Smog - Delhi - Diwali 2k16 After Effects
I seldom believed the documentaries, awareness programs, books, online articles describing pollution until just now. I used to assume (or hope) that all of them are exaggerating to some extent; wish they were. But no.
Delhi is globally famous for not only being the capital of largest democracy but also as the most polluted city - now I can completely feel the truthfulness of this sentence. The cosmopolitan Delhites shouldn't, or at least I, can't complain about crowd as we are part of it.
But what about this...
And this...
Whom to blame? Like always government? Or system? Or this is after effects of Diwali?
What is more frightening is that it's on the outskirts, near one of the most rush free metro station, where there is no major industry.
This smog was not only limiting visibility but was causing suffocation and irritation in eyes.
In my 10 minutes journey this scenario made deep impact - grave impression. I personally never liked urban civilization and this city is further strengthening my dislike.
Apart from poisonous environment, the sharp social divide is visible and it's pinching.
"We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors, we borrow it from our Children" - there's no better way of explaining our reckless and selfish attitude; which needs to be sensitized right now as it's already too late.
