1. Yoga makes you live longer. Ancient yogis state that we have fixed number of breaths in each life so by slow & deep breaths we can stretch our lifetime.
2. Yoga is not itself a religion. It may appear to be closely linked with Hinduism but Yoga is more about spirituality than a specific religion.
3. Swami Vivekanada is believed to have spread Yoga in West.
4. Yoga have eight elements which have to be followed in sequence in order to attain ultimate wisdom viz. Yama, Niyama, Asanas, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana & Samadhi.
5. As per the scriptures, yoga is not only for maintaining health but for awakening the super natural energy dwelling within ourselves.
6. Modern exercises have many side effects but yoga does not have a single ill effect if done as prescribed.
7. Flexibility is of the mind and not of the body as after proper breathing & patience can work miracles to any type of body.
8. Yoga should be a 24x7 practice as we breathe all the time and there are special practice for each moment of the day.
9. Yoga is the best anti-aging method. It will keep you young from outside as well as inside.
10. The best thing about yoga is that it is a gender neutral discipline. It doesn't disciminate on any basis - caste, class, religion, age, nationality etc.
