How can you make healthy natural herbal holi colors at home. How to make dry & wet major holi colors: Blue, Red, Orange, Yellow & Brown.

We know synthetic colors used in holi are very harmful for our health specially skin & eyes, still they are widely used in during Holi celebration as they are cheap & everyone can afford them. It's better to not to play Holi than to play with synthetic colors, however if you can't find natural or herbal holi colors in market at a reasonable rate then you can make them by yourself at home. Here's how you can make major holi colors at home without harmful chemicals:
1. Blue
For blue color, ground the dry flowers of Blue Jacaranda, also known as Neeli Gulmohar, in a mixer. You can also mix flour in the color if you want a lighter shade of blue color.
2. Red
Cranberries (Laal Beri) soaked in water overnight, would give you a dark red shade. Also, you can try boiling beetroot (Chukandar) and then mix it with cold water. For dry color, you can make a paste of red sandalwood - it's good for your skin too.
3. Orange
Saffron (Chandan), mixed with water, gives out nice orange color for kids to play wet Holi. For dry orange colors, you can try grinding sun-dried orange peels in a mixer.
4. Yellow
It's the easiest color to make at home, all you need is Gram flour (Besan) and Turmeric (Haldi) in about 2:1 ratio. It would not only be a shining yellow but would also be very good for skin.
5. Brown
You can boil tea leaves to get a shade of darker brown wet color. For lighter shade, you can try mixing water and Acacia catechu, known as Kattha, used for having beetles (Paan).
If you think all these efforts are not worth it, then you can buy herbal colors online too if it's not available in your market. It's my request to all of you that please do not use synthetic colors, stay healthy & enjoy Holi!!!
